I have been involved in Early Childhood for over 10 years now. Being a teacher has been extremely rewarding and extremely challenging at the same time. No two days are ever the same and I am constantly learning about myself, the early years and everything in between. I have three children of my own and all three have very different and varying personalities. A lot of what I share will come from my experiences as both an Early Childhood teacher as well as a father to three beautiful children. And there may of course be a couple of references to research that might be relevant to whatever topic I am discussing in my blogs. A lot of what I talk about may be considered controversial or contentious but I do it with the best intention which is to get readers to think about their practice, ideologies, philosophies and approaches to teaching and learning in the early years. This blog may even be valuable to parents who are in need of advice or direction with their children be it to do with behavioural challenges, developmental challenges, or just handy ideas that they've never thought to try before.
I am honest and this blog will often by subjective and opinion based but most blogs are! I will draw from my experiences more than anything and also the passion I have for the role I play in the early years and I hope those who read my posts will be able to take something away from each of them. Welcome and enjoy!
